The City Council of Nerja and the real estate Salsa aim to eliminate the B.I.C of Maro

A few days ago, the City Council of Nerja and SALSA Inmobiliaria signed an urban agreement so that you can modify the environment of Maro, to which they intend to remove their landscape protection. The project had been standing in a drawer for several years but now, in the heart of the State of Alarm by COVID-19, it has been "rescued" and published in the Transparency Portal of the City of Nerja (you can access the project HERE).

This convention entails a series of measures that are quite harmful, such as the annulment of the landscape protection that the PGOU has for that area of Maro.  That is, the City Council will modify its General Plan of Urban Planning so that the Sociedad Azucarera Larios Inmobiliaria, S.L. can build there, despite the current protection that this area has.

The real estate company SALSA, in order to circumvent all these regulations, intends that its project receives from the Junta de Andalucía a Declaration of Autonomous Interest, even if it is a space of special protection and negotiates with the nerjeño Consistory that Convention.

The project to be imposed in the area includes an 18-hole golf course, an urbanization with 680 luxury homes and several exclusive hotels, on an area of great cultural and landscape value.

This tremendous and worrying news comes to us through Rafael Yus, from Ecologists in Action.
