FROM TODAY IN OPERATION, THE SHUTTLE BUS OF CANTARRIJÁN.

Bathers who want to access the nudist beach of Cantarriján from today, June 15 and until September 10, will have to use the public transport service from the N-340 to the beach.

The Junta de Andalucía launched this service in 2008 "to facilitate the public use and enjoyment of this beach by restricting the passage of vehicles as a conservation measure to protect the natural diversity of this place", according to the proposal.

The annual increase of visitors to the area is noticeable every year, after the access control service with the bus it can be said that it has carried out its task of conservation of space with the control of the circulation within the natural landscape to avoid its degradation in the time of greatest influx and demand of visitors. In recent years approximately 40,000 people visited this nudist beach.

The transport service is carried out again by the company Gonzamatis, which offers the shuttle buses equipped with a locution about the natural values of the natural landscape of the Cliffs of Maro Cerro Gordo. The one-way ticket price, round trip, is 2 euros and the shuttles run from 9 to 21 hours. Private vehicles can be parked in the two car parks enabled in the area, next to the CN 340.

This natural area, declared as such in 1989 by the Junta de Andalucía, for its relevance and maritime biodiversity, Maro Cerro Gordo is also declared by the United Nations as a Specially Protected Area of Importance for the Mediterranean.
