MEETING BETWEEN THE JUNTA DE ANDALUCÍA AND AAPNC

The Territorial Delegate of the Environment in Granada, Inmaculada Oria, received last Thursday in its office of the Ministry of the Environmental Area of the Junta de Andalucía, the representatives of the Association of Friends of the Nudista Beach of Cantarriján. The meeting was also attended by Antonio González, Head of the Protected Natural Spaces Service and one of the best responsible for ensuring the protection of this large area.

Cantarriján is one of the best known naturist beaches in Andalusia, recognized as such since September 1982, and is immersed within the protected Natural Park of the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs, which ranges from the Malaga Barranco de Maro (Nerja) to the Torre de Cerro Gordo, already in the municipality of Almuñécar, in the province of Granada.

The collective, which since last February operates on this Sexitan beach, under the protection of the FEN (Spanish Federation of Naturism) is already known for its fervent struggle to maintain this traditionally nudist place, mobilizing its users to promote nudity on the beach through meetings, activities and various campaigns of pronudistic dissemination, in addition to raising awareness of the preservation of the delicate marine and terrestrial ecosystem of this unique natural space where Cantarriján is framed.

During the more than two hours of the meeting, the singing delegation set out, point by point, the requests that have been transferring to the different administrations and whose claim is none other than to improve this historic beach in the face of naturist ideology and the Environment.

Cantarriján's beaconing is one of them. The Association has been carrying out, since the beginning of the summer bathing season, making dozens of complaints to both the Guardia Civil and through its various social networks, motor boats that transgress the ban and put at risk both beach bathers and the maritime flora and fauna that, we remember, is considered a specially protected area of importance to the Mediterranean because it is a unique marine ecosystem.

The claim of the beacon, already made months ago both to the City Council and to the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Costa Tropical, responsible for the latter for duly balizing all the beaches of Almuñecar.

Many other relevant topics were discussed during the meeting: The signage of Cantarriján as a nudist beach, the greater control over the prohibitions, a greater presence of security in the area, cleaning issues, infrastructure… making it clear on both sides that the full willingness to cooperate together in improving the conditions of both Cantarriján and the natural landscape.

Cooperation that could soon be officially embodied in a Collaboration Agreement between the Ministry of the Environment of the Junta de Andalucía and the association of Cantarriján.

A.A.P.N.C continues his crusade, adding partners to his cause and contacting the different administrations and social agents, to reconvert Cantarriján into what it was originally: A benchmark for national nudism and one of the natural places with the greatest protection and resources of the territory.
